Making Peach Sorbet

It has been over 100 degrees everyday here in Texas. It has just been hot as blazes, but outdoor work has to be done. I try to do most of the chores in the morning and evening, but even then it is hot and sometimes when something needs to be done you have to work even in the heat of the day.
Peaches From The Orchard
Since I have a lot of peaches and need something chilled to serve to help to combat the heat, I decided to make peach sorbet.  Peach sorbet can be made early in the morning for an evening treat or can be made in the evening for a next day treat. It is simple to make.
Sugar Water
The amount of sugar needed really depends on the sweetnesss or tartness of your peaches.
I combined 1 cup of sugar into ½ cup of water in a saucepan. I stirred over heat until sugar dissolved and came to a boil. Then I sat this pan to the side so that it could cool.

Sliced Peaches

Next, I washed and peeled the peaches with a potato peeler, cut the peaches into slices and discarded the peach pit. I used about 3 cups of peaches.
Pureed Peaches
I then pureed the peaches and sugar water in a blender until smooth.
I then poured this peach puree into a 9x13 covered pan.

I placed into freezer until frozen.

Peach Sorbet
Then I used ice cream scoop to scoop out peach sorbet into serving containers.
Sweet and Cold!
