See How the Garden is Growing

Zuchinni
Spring is a busy time in the garden. There are so many garden chores that need to get done. I have been planting, weeding, mulching, adding compost, staking plants, preventing unwanted animals from eating my plants, and watering. I had not hoped to water this early in spring because usually we get consistent rain in the spring but unfortunately we are going on 2 ½ weeks without rain. I hope that this is not the beginning indication that we are going to have a hot dry summer like last year. My weeding involves the use of using a weed eater around my raised beds. I pull some weeds in the beds but do not get them all because there are not enough hours in the day and there are more chores that I need to do in the garden. I feed the weeds that I cut and pull from the garden to the pigs.
Spring is also a beautiful time. There are so many beautiful blooms around the farm and many vegetable plants that are growing and beginning to produce their bounty. I have to slow down and remind myself to savor these few moments. There is also the wonderful perfume honeysuckle filled air that I enjoy in the morning as I hang my clothes to dry in the sun on the laundry line. Also rosemary fragrance fills the air and I also love the smell of tomato vines.
I have attached a few photos of plants that are blooming and growing around the farm.
