“Giving up on a goal
because of a setback is like slashing your other 3 tires because you got a
flat.”
The
summer heat is beating down upon us. We try to do our chores in the cool of the
day; early morning and late afternoon, but sometimes there is no avoiding it.
It is like that old saying; you’ve got to make hay while the sun is shining.
To
help refresh ourselves and to relax a bit we love to drink ice-cold fruit
juices. We make different flavors just depending on what is growing in the
garden. One of our favorites is cantaloupe juice. We grow our own cantaloupes
and they are doing exceptionally well this season.
Cantaloupe
Juice
½ of a cantaloupe with seeds and rind removed
1 cup of apple juice
2 cups of ice
Sugar to sweeten, if necessary
Add all ingredients to a blender
except for sugar. Blend till ice is to desired consistency. Taste to see if
sugar is necessary for sweetness. I usually double this recipe. Cantaloupe juice is delicious, refreshing and a
wonderful way to use up the abundance of cantaloupes growing in the garden.
