I have never had a lot of money to spend on landscaping. What plants that I do have in my landscape I have either bought on sale, transplanted from other areas, were given to me, or I rerooted from cuttings.
One of my favorite landscaping plants is roses. Roses are just absolutely gorgeous! The flowers are large and the colors are so vibrant! I have about 20 rose bushes. I wish I had more, but I have a lot of shade around my house and roses require full sun to grow and bloom adequately. Therefore the roses I do have I have squeezed alongside the fence of my garden or I have them growing in containers on a deck.
The roses that I have seem to be resilient. I am sure that when I tell people the only thing I do to my roses is water them master rose growers everywhere are appalled at my ineptness. I hear that you are suppose to dead head them, spray them for fungus, and fertilize them on a regular basis, but I do not have time to do all of that. If I have landscaping plants they have to be sturdy to survive around here. I hope these pictures inspire you to grow a few rose bushes in your own yard.
